RE: I bought my new toy hauler....##&&^%@#$(*#!
I got a 2006 21AK and it has been out about 30+ times. Up until now, just small, minor stuff I corrected myself. Overall, I love it and would by another when needed.
I paid $20,000 out the door for mine in Dec 2005.
RE: Weekend warrior Out of business?
Hilarious isn't it??!!
LOL!!
What's so hilarious about hundreds of decent folks losing their jobs, and investors losing their investments? You really think that's a hoot, huh? :?
There will be some or many that get burned, which in itself is a sad situation. However, as far as those on the assembly line, they needed to go anyway. Their workmanship on a lot of the rigs were below par....kick the bums to da curb.
RE: Ragen & Weekend Warrior Warning
WW used to watch this site but I doubt they do now, Why would they? You could tell who was going to get taken care of by what and how they posted. sad to say but there are a lot of people in line for work to be done and it would be a lot easier for WW to file BK and walk away. I hope they can pull it together and stay alive long enough to take care of business. I would think they will take care of people that can be satisfied first?
By the way there are other WW dealers that have no service, I bought mine from one of them. There was a time when dealers were fighting to get WWs on their lot.
PS. I always got awesome service from WW at the factory, I bought a Rage'n because of their factory service but oh well?
and don't think for a minute that dealers are always telling you the whole truth.
Are you saying most people with gripes on this forum regarding WW have no viable complaint and they can't ever be satisfied????? In other words, all of you with gripes, you best post "positive" threads regarding WW or you won't get any service completed :p
RE: WW BK?????
Weekend Warrior appears to be reorganizing. They have absorbed Rage'n, and they have halted all warranty work through the dealers. If you call Rage'n, you are directed to call Weekend Warrior.
Someone on the forum just got warranty work scheduled at the factory which is a good sign, so you might be able to get the parts you need sooner rather than later.
Andrew
A December date at the earliest. But the verdict for WW is still out?
RE: Running a second generator?
I have a built in 4000w Generac in my rig, but also bought a "Champion" 1200w portable model too ($160). I use it for the tv, lights, etc. It is not much louder than other models and my friends can use it since they don't have a gen in their unit or when someone else brings a tent.
RE: Weekend Warrior Warranty is Gone
It will be a shame if they fail. It's nice to have choice and competition. If the economy continues to falter and gas prices continue to climb then they won't be the last to close their doors. Anyone that thinks the fuel prices won't significanlty effect the RV business is living in a fantasy world. I keep hearing people say that fuel costs won't change their life style. Maybe not in the short term but in the long term it will change everything, especially the RV business. Who are they going to sell them to. The very rich or a few people that opt to full time. Unless the current fuel trend changes the RV industry will decline in a major way.
If you went 300 miles at 12 mpg, that is 25 gallons. So a 3 dollar per gallon increase means an additional 75 bucks for your trip.
So, are you selling your toyhauler and staying home from now on?
Andrew
I love threads like this. I have a TH and will continue to use it because I am in pretty good financial condition. However, with gas at 4.50+ a gallon already, that 25 gallons is already costing $112.50 Now add that additional $75 to that already inflated price and you are now at almost $200 just for gas.
I have made some changes with the Rv and the biggest is no short 2 day trips. Unless I can camp for a minimum of 3 days, I won't go.
A short 1 year ago, that same fill up was only $50-60!!!! I love people who keep claiming a small increase in gas prices will not effect them. I have seen many of my friends that have been effected by the rise in gas prices and many don't even own RV's.
This IS effecting the RV business and everything that needs gas to operate or function on....so you better wake up and take note.
ANd for those even thinking of buying a WW ANYTIME in the next year, be forewarned...AGAIN. They are in BIG trouble and don't listen to those with heads stuck in sand saying WW will be fine:S. The writing HAS been on the walls for a long time and many continue to ignore the warnings:R
On a better note, I personally believe gas prices will stabilize in the next 12 months (+ / -) and will go back down around the $2-$3 a gallon mark. The world needs gas and governments will not allow their economic power to be sucked dry by the oil companies and OPEC....Just wait and see.
But until this happens, it will be tough on a lot of industries and people.
RE: Weekend Warrior Company Condition?
I used to work in retail (not RV's) and the owner would tell the customer ANYTHING to keep the sale....even lie. Many times I heard the owner tell someone who bought an item on special order and paid for it that it would arrive on a certain date, even though he knew damn well that it wouldn't.
The stuff I learned at this store I still use today when dealing with companies.
Bottom line is, he HAS to say that in order for everyone to feel confident to continue buying their product or else all is lost. He will save himself BEFORE you any day.
I wouldn't trust ONE word out of his mouth...IF he goes into BK, he will be protected to a certain extent and you will be one of thousands and thousands trying to get what you paid for.
I, for one, wouldn't buy ANYTHING from ANYONE with the problems WW is going through. The warning signs are there and people still don't want to see them. Wait this out and if they pull through, great....if not, you saved yourself a lot of heartache.
RE: Weekend Warrior Recall on Safety Lighting
This is not a major problem, it's a light or two. And WW DID contact the owner. Guess what, they get a web slam for it. "No wonder?" No wonder there are so many negative posts. No wonder WW can't keep up with the "issues". No wonder there are complaints when issues like these become a big deal. Good grief. No doubt (as with anything manufactured) there are a few who have legitimate problems. Something slipped by in manufacturing and it caused a defect. But, most of the ones I have read just don't ring true. WW builds and sells more toyhaulers than anyone else, hence with the same compliant base as other manufacturers they get more exposure. But think about it....a toyhauler is probably overloaded and driven on rough uneven ground, bounced around and over sped a lot. I am convinced that not one "complainee" will admit that though when faced with a delam or other structural issue. No sir (is their attitude) it's the companies fault. They contend that it should stand up to such abuse (without admitting what they've put it through). Concerning the OP, $30k spent 4 years ago for such a great concept RV (that's inexpensive!) and now he won't recommend it to anyone because they didn't schedule his light bulb's on the spot (which they made him aware of in the first place and offered at no cost!!!) Come on, I am not slamming you guy's, just trying to bring perspective. It's a light bulb and we are talking maybe a couple weeks more for them to schedule a date. Give 'em a break, they certainly are giving you one.
A great big DITTO to all of your comments. I beat the heck out of my trailer about 15 or 20 times each year. Towing too fast down Bessemer Mine Rd. is one of them. I just replaced all of my leaf springs and have straightened and gusseted the frame due to my own bad driving habits. With the damage I've caused and the repairs I've made, it's still a great trailer and I expect to keep it for a long time. Long live Weekend Warrior and the great rigs they build.
:S :B :R
RE: WW recall notice for exterior lighting?
I am surprised you guys didn't call me a "blue hair" too:E:E
You guys take life way too seriously and must have had a bad childhood to boot:p
I have never seen owners of any other brand get so bent out of shape as some WW owners here when people don't like their brand, like the 2 above:B
RE: Securing motorycycle
I don't use a chalk and never have. I tie them down in the front as usual. Then, I wrap something around the front brake level to activate the brake and put it in first gear. I then place another tie down on the frame and attach it the other end to the floor behind the bike, which prevents ANY movement, either side to side or up and down, even over rough terrain.
3 tie downs and that's it!!!!!!!!! Very easy, very quick and very safe.
RE: WW Weekend Warrior BBB Rating
Very interesting thread. Bottom line is, if you want to do away with the whole thing and not have to worry about WW's......buy an Attitude! LMAO!! :);)
So, you & Willoughby did your research, and bought Eclipse trailers. Eclipse with a solid "F" BBB rating. :R
:B:B.......My research was done here on this and other threads. The consumer has the loudest voice of ANYONE and that is what I listen too. Obviously, I made a good choice and bypassed WW based on those reviews.
RE: WW recall notice for exterior lighting?
I like the way the letter states, "WW Trailers Inc. has decided that certain..........." It was the NTSB that told them that their products were out of compliance.
Just how does a company like WW design & build one of the more popular toy haulers and screw something as simple as this up??? This information is readily available for them BEFORE they design ANY trailer.
It just amazes me they are still in business and people are still ordering their stuff:h
It may show, but I have never been a fan of WW. No disrespect for those that have a WW either.
Gee Whiz why be so hateful you don't even own one:h..... so move along please nothing to see here:R I recieved one for my 06 FK just passed it on to the new owner:B
Nah....I think I will stick around:R.....Some of you WW owners need to mellow out and quit crying when someone doesn't like your brand. Don't take it so personal. For the most part, the complaints and attacks are against WW for not standing up to the plate, not the consumer. But then, a post like this comes around:S
RE: WW Weekend Warrior BBB Rating
NONE of the BBB rating of WW or anything else for that matter means a thing to me. Particularly when you look at the BBB page for that company and see the comments. So I guess the question is who is complaining and why. I have no issues whatsoever with WW and find it in very poor taste that MCrankyPants or whoever he is, finds it necessary to come in here to share his grievances rather than with WW only, or through his Attorney. Perhaps one could judge his demeanor by his screenname. If someone has a problem with WW, take it up with them and don't buy from them again. We're not going to solve your business issue with them in this forum. As you can see, the vast majority of owners are very satisfied with their product. No business will ever be able to please everybody and there will always be somebody getting their panties in a wad over something. Seems that the way those types prefer to deal with their own issues is to try to make it everybody else's problem too.
From the BBB website: (Note the comment in Red which are the BBB's own words, so how can they rate an "F" with that description and the lack of listed complaints)

I disagree. I want people to post the bad and good points about ANY dealer/manufacturer. It is these post that allow us consumers to make an intelligent decision about a particular make/model.
When I was in the market for a toy hauler and never owned one, a lot of info I found here steered me away from WW from day one. I also learned ALL TH's had problems, but it seemed WW had the most with the worst customer relations.
Crankypants...keep updating us on WW.
RE: WW Weekend Warrior BBB Rating
"just wanted to let anyone considering a warrior purchase know that" many people are extemely happy with their purchase.
Why do some take anything negative about WW as a personal attack on them?????
I am sure other makers of toyhaulers are not better, but if you say Attitudes are worthless, WTF, I don't care and I have one. I don't own stock in the company but I do like mine and if someone doesn't, BFD...period.
Because!
Seriously though. . . let's see - someone starts a rumor about something you own that has a significant dollar value to it. If you let people continue to bash unchecked others start to believe the B.S. and soon the value of your QUALITY Asset goes down just about the time you decide to sell for a new/larger/etc. model.
I hope this explains this so you can understand why people defend a product they believe in.
Ok, that is a good point and I'd give that to you if it were true with WW. But, WW has been hammered more than any other TH here and for good reasons. At some point, it's time to jump ship.
And by the way, a lot of this so-called BS is from WW owners and that is what I notice. WW has a serious customer relations / quality control problems and you would think they would have changed that long ago for the sake of their loyal customers.
Yet, it is their loyal customers that are getting bent over the hitch and that is what I don't understand...why stand up for a company that has done so much wrong.....

Doing some research for a problem we're having...just wanted to let anyone considering a warrior purchase know that they have an across the board Better Business Bureau rating of F.
That can't be true:h...with all of the "happy campers" that have WW trailers?????
Thanks for the info, just another nail in their coffin.
RE: Glass Creek, CA
Has anyone been up there yet? How was your trip? Any snow still? Any new issues up there with the new camp host? Thanks for the info in advance.
Are you talking about the Mammoth area?????? If so, according to the Inyo web site, it is open. They had temps in the high 70's to mid 80's for the past week and this will help melt the snow.
Other camp grounds are to open this and next week, like Hartley Springs and possibly Deadman?
